Linkseyi’s ModMaker is a program in Java which will generate and compile ModLoader compatible Minecraft mods without MCP setup or other installations.  It currently contains features such as block creation, item/tool creation, recipes, furnace recipes, and simple mob creation (somewhat of a WIP).

How to install Linkseyi’s ModMaker for Minecraft 1.6.2:

Once you have created your mod to your specifications, you can generate necessary files by clicking the “Generate” button beneath the elements list.  If all goes well, the program should write java files, and then compile them.  It will automatically open the folder you have saved your mod to, in a sub-folder titled “minecraftdotjar”.  In this folder you should see another folder called “linkseyi” (this is where texture files are stored), a .class file that starts with “mod_*” along with multiple other files that are based off the contents of your mod.

* If your “minecraftdotjar” folder does not include a “mod_*” file, there has likely been a compiler error.  If you are experienced in java, you can try generating files in Debug Mode, or you can post your project file to this thread and I’ll try to fix it.
To install your mod:

  • Download the recommended FML installer
  • Run it. It will create a new profile in your .minecraft/versions/ folder.
  • Open the jar file inside the profile folder with an archiver (I recommend 7-Zip).
  • Drop the contents of the generated /minecraftdotjar/ folder into this archive.
  • Run Minecraft with the Forge profile.
